Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need any experience to start?

Not at all. Most of our students walk in with zero martial arts background. Our beginner-friendly classes break everything down step by step so you can learn at your own pace.

What should I wear to my first class?

Athletic clothing you can move comfortably in — shorts or joggers, a T-shirt or rash guard. We’re a no-gi academy, so no uniform is required. Bring a water bottle and a towel.

Do you offer a free trial?

Yes. We offer a free introductory session so you can experience the training, meet the coaches, and see if 10th Planet Orange Park is the right fit — no commitment, no pressure.

What ages do you accept?

Our Kids programs start at age 5, and our adult classes welcome students of all ages. Many families train together — kids on one mat, parents on another during the same time block.

How often should I train?

For beginners, two to three classes per week is ideal. As you progress, many students train four to five times per week. Our schedule is designed to accommodate working professionals, students, and families.

Are the mats clean and safe?

Absolutely. We maintain a clean, professional facility and sanitize our mats regularly. In close-contact sports, hygiene is non-negotiable — and we take it seriously.

Do you accept Step Up For Students scholarships?

Yes! We are a proud Step Up For Students partner. Contact us to learn how to apply your scholarship toward kids’ Jiu-Jitsu or Muay Thai classes.

Ready to Start Your Martial Arts Journey?
